The Pilates Center in Rhinebeck classes have been the inspiration and hard work that have kept me from collapsing into painful and depressing old age. The renewal of energy is most important and you both never let me give up. Also and most important to me is it is never boring. Your attention to every detail is impressive and very unusual. Keep it going— we all need you.

I started working with The Pilates Center in Rhinebeck about five years ago when I hurt my back. To be blunt: their teaching of Pilates holds me together. The Pilates Center instructors are exquisitely sensitive to students’ physical issues and even within the context of a class, work individually and carefully with each student.

Beyond the healing aspects of pilates, though, is the fact that I know of no other exercise program which so generally gives strength and in my case even added an inch to my height. I’ve tried many exercise programs over the years and basically am not someone who particularly enjoys it, but with Beth, I see constant progress and the work, while not easy, is always interesting, not dull and rote like so much other exercise.

The 200-lb limb of a maple tree fell on me during a hurricane when I was 12. My spine was fractured. I was told never to exercise. I didn’t. By the time I reached my late fifties I was like a pretzel. I despaired. A friend told me to try Pilates and insisted I contact The Pilates Center in Rhinebeck. I did. They taught me how to be tall, strong, balanced, mobile, secure, and confident. Other students have watched my progress over a decade and even they marvel at what Pilates has allowed me to achieve.

It is no exaggeration to say that Pilates changed my life.

I love Pilates at The Pilates Center in Rhinebeck. I’ve been taking classes for more than 12 years and it has had an immense impact on my health and well-being. For one thing, I can garden and not be in pain the next day. My Osteopenia was reversed! My posture has changed. People ask me if I have lost weight and I haven’t, just got tighter. Classes have helped shoulder and knee injuries heal and return to full range of motion faster. I FEEL BETTER THAN I DID TEN YEARS AGO.

I have been doing Pilates for the last 13 years, since I was in my mid 50s. I hope to keep doing it at least another 15 years! I have learned so much about my body and feel so much more in touch with it. I now know how to activate different muscles for different purposes, how to stand and sit taller, and how to work on my balance. I am flexible and strong for a woman my age. I love horseback riding and my Pilates training has been a great asset to my riding. It has helped me improve my seat on my horse and has aided my balance in the saddle. I am a healthy and 100% committed Pilates devotee!

Pilates is like a time machine for my body. I’m more flexible now than I was in my twenties, and that was long ago. Pilates is also the only workout I know where I feel more refreshed after a session than when I first get to the studio.
